A day in the life of a home care worker

Janet works from 7am to 11am. Most days she usually starts with a call to Mr and Mrs Robins who, despite being retired for over 20 years, still like to start their day at a time as if Mr Robins was going to work. Janet helps Mr Robins get his wife up and while he helps her dress, Janet prepares a breakfast for them along with some vegetables that they will be able to cook for them-selves later.

Just before leaving Mr and Mrs Robins, for Mrs Ash, Janet ensures that Mrs Robins' medication is put into pots to ensure she takes the right tablets at the right time.

On arriving at Mrs Ash's, Janet finds that she is up and dressed. It's a good day as far as her arthritis is concerned - so Janet has time to help her sort her washing and to discuss and share family news before moving on to her next clients.
